Statement on accessibility.

We want to make our website accessible to as many people as possible. Here we describe which standards we follow, which tests we have carried out and which questions are still open. If you encounter a barrier while using the website, your feedback helps us.

This statement applies to all pages under this domain. We make it voluntarily.

Status of our testing

We follow WCAG 2.1 at level AA and the requirements of EN 301 549 relevant to websites. So far, we have tested selected pages automatically and individual functions manually. A complete assessment of all applicable requirements is therefore not yet available.

How we tested

We tested on 12 and 14 September 2026, in each case ourselves and not through an independent body.

  • Automated: testing with axe-core against the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 rule sets at levels A and AA, across ten pages: home page, services overview, TYPO3 upgrade, contact, projects, insights, agency, public sector clients, search and this statement. In the documented test run, the rules used did not report any automatically detectable violations on the pages tested. This result does not apply to other pages and other states.
  • Search panel and chat: Both only appear after an interaction and were therefore not covered in the first run. In a separate test on 14 September 2026, we found and fixed three insufficient contrasts there.
  • Keyboard: On each tested page, we operated the first twelve focus stops; at each one, the focus was visible. The search field in the header can be opened, operated with the keyboard and closed with the Escape key. We have therefore not fully tested the focus order across an entire page.
  • Contrasts: At 33 places with text on images and colour gradients — which automated tools cannot assess — we measured the colour values actually displayed. The measured values were between 5.9:1 and 15.8:1. Elements and states not measured are therefore not assessed.
  • Contact form: All visible fields have an assigned label, the four required fields are marked as such. Fields that only serve to fend off automated submissions are excluded for keyboard and screen readers. Error messages and the complete completion process are not part of this test.
  • Motion: If “Reduce motion” is set in the operating system, animations are reduced.

Measures for an accessible website

Much of this is decided in the design and in the building blocks from which the pages are created.

  • Operation without a mouse: Navigation, forms, search and expandable areas can be reached with the keyboard. In the cases tested, the focus was visible.
  • Clear page structure: Heading level and visual size can be set separately. This allows the editorial team to define the structure read aloud independently of the appearance.
  • Colour templates: Colour and background combinations are predefined and support sufficient contrasts. Individual combinations can nevertheless turn out too weak — which is why we measure afterwards.
  • Alternative texts: Images are maintained with a text alternative. Purely decorative images carry an empty alt attribute and are therefore skipped by assistive technology.
  • Motion with consideration: Animations serve orientation. Anyone who has set reduced motion in the operating system gets them reduced.
  • Skip link: A link at the top of the page leads directly to the content and skips the navigation.

Not yet conclusively tested

These points say something about the status of our testing, not about barriers found.

  • No independent testing: We tested ourselves. A complete audit against all success criteria of WCAG 2.1 AA by an independent body or with the participation of people with disabilities is still pending.
  • Pages outside the sample: We tested ten pages automatically. The remaining pages are created from the same building blocks but are not tested individually.
  • Focus order and labels: Both can be tested manually. So far, we have done this on a sample basis, not across entire pages.

Known barriers

  • Video: On the project page for the apprenticeship job board, there is a screen video without sound. What it shows is described as text directly below the video; there are no subtitles.
  • Answers from search and chat: The answers consist of texts from our website and our knowledge base. An AI can select the matching texts. In the process, unsuitable or several similar sections may appear. We therefore also check the comprehensibility and scope of the answers output during ongoing operation.

Further forms of access

We do not currently offer Easy Language or sign language.

Documents and embedded content

There are no documents to download on the public pages. A single video is embedded, which is stored as a file on our own server and is only loaded after a click. There is currently no content that is loaded from other providers when the page is opened.
