For the Hamburg advertising agency brand on fire, we designed the layout of the new website and implemented it with TYPO3. Colours, logos and fonts were specified; from these we developed an image-rich website for projects, services and team. A custom reference module allows the agency to publish new work itself. The website has been online since December 2025.
A website for the agency's work.
brand on fire develops brand communication with a focus on shopper marketing – that is, communication that reaches people while shopping. The website was to present the agency and its services and above all show its work vividly.
The design basis was fixed: colours, logos and fonts were specified, as were the wishes for the structure of the project detail pages. Our task was to develop a coherent website layout from this. At the same time, the team should be able to add new references themselves without having to redesign every project page.
From design to editorial handover.
The relaunch included the design and technical implementation of the website as well as training for subsequent content maintenance.
Layout based on the existing CI
We designed the page layouts on the basis of the specified colours, logos and fonts. For the project details, we took up the desired structure and worked out the interplay of images, texts, areas and spacing. This created a shared design for presenting the agency and its work.
Technical basis
We set up TYPO3 13.4 and a separate test system for implementing and testing the website.
Content building blocks and reference module
We developed reusable content elements with Content Blocks and a custom module for maintaining and displaying the references.
Second language version
We set up the second language version including language selection and the associated technical configuration. The website is technically implemented for German and English; the content is currently maintained in German.
Training and publication
In a training session, we familiarised the team with content maintenance. After functional and browser tests, the website was published in December 2025.

New projects in a uniform structure.
The references combine large-format motifs with information on challenge, strategy and result. We developed a custom reference module for maintaining this content. It combines the desired structure of the project details with the layout we worked out.
The team maintains the content via defined fields. Overview and detail display draw on this information and follow the intended design. This allows further work to be added without building a separate layout for each reference.
Maintain content, keep the design.
For the general page content, we use Content Blocks. With them, we set up content building blocks with defined fields and a suitable display. The editorial team can use and combine these building blocks without having to edit the underlying templates.
The technical definitions are in the project code and are versioned. Changes to the building blocks can thus be traced and transferred between the test and live systems.

brand on fire brought colours, logos and fonts with them. From these, we developed the layout of the website: with large image and video areas, striking headings and clearly structured text sections. Red and dark areas continue the existing brand identity and give the different content a shared frame.
The agency's work is given a lot of room. On the project detail pages, large motifs alternate with explanatory texts. We worked out the structure requested by the client in terms of design – from the arrangement of the content to proportions and spacing. This way, not only finished motifs are shown, but the tasks and considerations behind them also become understandable.
The layout and the editorial building blocks interlock: the agency can add further projects with its own images and texts while retaining the intended design.
