Three websites. Supported technically together.
The websites of Heller Tools, Keil and the Tool Competence Group run in one shared TYPO3 installation. Since August 2024, we have been supporting the technical basis of the three websites. We take into account both shared functions and the special features of the individual websites.
A shared basis for different websites.
Heller Tools, Keil and the Tool Competence Group each have their own website. Content and appearance differ, while the websites use a shared TYPO3 installation.
For support, this means: changes to shared extensions or templates have to be checked with regard to all affected websites. At the same time, work on the technical basis can be carried out together.
Prepare together, check per website.
For technical changes, we take into account the shared installation and the functions of the individual websites. Preparation and testing initially take place separately from live operation.
Check inventory and dependencies
We record the extensions and custom adjustments used and check which websites are affected by a planned change.
Prepare changes
Updates and adjustments are first implemented in a test environment.
Check affected websites
We check the effects on the respective websites. These include the affected functions and displays, for example product views and search.
Publish and re-check
After approval, the changes are published. We then check the affected functions in live operation.

Take existing product functions into account when making changes.
Product views and search functions are among the areas that must be taken into account in technical adjustments. Changes to a shared extension can affect different places on the websites.
That is why we include the affected product pages and functions in the check. What matters is not only whether a technical change has been implemented, but also whether the existing functions continue to work as intended.
Bundle technical maintenance, retain independent websites.
The existing installation makes it possible to implement updates to the shared TYPO3 basis centrally. Shared extensions can also be maintained together.
The individual websites retain their domains, content and design. The effort involved in a change depends on which components and websites are affected.
