Hotel Goldener Anker Bayreuth

A historic hotel. A website with character.

For Hotel Goldener Anker in Bayreuth, we designed a website that takes up the atmosphere of the hotel: warm signature colours, fine ornaments and generous images of the rooms and spaces. Based on the existing logo and colour scheme, an independent web design was created for the historic private hotel. The implementation with TYPO3 brings together rooms, dining and events in German, English and French. The website has been online since March 2025.

Starting point

Bringing the character of the hotel to the web.

The Goldener Anker is a family-run private hotel with a long history. Traditional furniture, patterned walls and warm colours characterise the rooms. This atmosphere should also be tangible on the website – and give guests an impression of the hotel even before their visit.

The logo and the hotel's signature colours formed the basis. Our task was to develop a suitable design for the website from them and to bring together the different offerings clearly. Guests should get to know rooms, discover dining and events and find the right way to booking or contact – in three languages and on different devices.

Project history

From design to a trilingual website.

The relaunch included the design, the technical implementation and the preparation of the content for the website. The new website was published in March 2025.

Design

We developed the web design from the hotel's signature colours, the rooms and their decorative details. We designed the layouts for the home page, room overview and room details as well as for events, careers and other content pages. Recurring elements connect the pages into a uniform presence.

Technical implementation

We set up TYPO3 12 and implemented the design for smartphone, tablet and desktop.

Content and functions

Image galleries, sliders, expandable content areas and forms complement the pages. News and events are maintained on a shared technical basis.

Three language versions

We set up German, English and French including language selection and search function.

Content creation and publication

We created content, entered it into the website and checked the functions and display before go-live in March 2025.

Design

Warm colours. Fine ornaments. The character of the hotel.

Wine red and gold give the website its warm, elegant basic tone. The colours belong to the hotel's existing appearance. We took them up for the web design and combined them with light areas that give images and texts room.

The ornamental backgrounds take up the decorations and wall patterns of the hotel rooms. Fine lines and frames complement this reference to the hotel's interiors. This way, the decorative elements do not stand on their own, but connect the website with the rooms that guests later experience on site.

The choice of fonts also supports the character of the website: Playfair Display showcases the headings with its serifs, Raleway keeps the longer texts clear and easy to read. Generous photos of rooms and spaces complete the picture. The design conveys the tradition of the hotel and combines it with clear use on smartphone, tablet and desktop.

Editorial maintenance

A shared basis for news and dates.

For news and events, we use a shared technical basis. The content is entered in TYPO3 and, depending on the purpose, displayed as a news item or in the event calendar.

This keeps processes similar for the editorial team. It can maintain both content types within the same system.

Room presentation

Get an impression even before arrival.

Generous images show the rooms with their furnishings, warm colours and individual details. On the pages of the room categories, information on facilities and size complements the photos. This allows guests not only to compare services, but also to get a picture of the atmosphere.

The design leads from the first overview to the individual categories and on to booking or contacting the hotel. The detail pages can also be called up and shared directly.
